I figure I’d get this out now, since I have a feeling people don’t understand.
From drugwatch.com:
“On average, about 4,500 drugs and devices are pulled from U.S. shelves each year. The recalled products have U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval and in many cases, are widely ingested, injected or implanted before being recalled. Although the FDA may identify concerns regarding the safety of a drug, it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to initiate and execute a recall. On the other hand, the FDA can mandate the recall of a device.”
From fda.gov:
“A drug recall is the most effective way to protect the public from a defective or potentially harmful product. A recall is a voluntary action taken by a company at any time to remove a defective drug product from the market.”
I think that, if the US government decides to shield a drug manufacturer from legal liability (and of course they will for COVID “for the greater good”), many if not most of them will choose to keep a dangerous or ineffective vaccine on the market and say that the alternative is worse. I’d have to look deeper, but the information I’ve found thus far indicates that the FDA can only initiate a recall of medical devices, not drugs. A drug recall must be initiated by the manufacturer. The most the FDA can do at that point is warn people not to take it and hope it stops selling, is voluntarily pulled, or lawsuits force removal from the market later on. Also from drugwatch:
In 2017 alone, manufacturers recalled 4,402 drug and device products, according to the Center for Devices and Radiological Health and the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. Of those recalls, the FDA classified 139 as Class I. Class I recalled products have the potential to cause serious harm or death.
“The long list of drug recalls on FDA website is evidence that still industries are not following the standard guidelines issued by FDA,” doctors Upendra Nagaich and Divya Sadhna wrote in a study published in 2015 in the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation.
And all of this was using the regular approval timeline and procedures! I’m not trying to be gloomy, but unless the conspiracy theorists are right again and this virus has been known and studied for YEARS, it smacks of malpractice the likes of which we haven’t seen in decades to rush this to market. Contraindications and warnings are right on the drug packaging insert so that the patient can ask questions and decide for themselves if it’s safe to take. Will you read the warning label before taking your COVID vaccine? Did they even bother printing them?
As an aside, why has so much of the media been focused on a passive approach to health instead of an active one? Could it be that there’s more benefit (for them)? Fear-porn peddlers and the drugmakers that advertise their “necessary” products instead kept people fearful, apart from each other, and in declining mental and physical condition during the best months for boosting immune system health, then called to wait for the savior vaccine once the inevitable autumn/winter illnesses started to spike and people got scared and sick again.
Don’t forget that there have been several attempts in previous years to scare us with all manner of biological terror: Ebola, Yellow Fever, West Nile Virus, SARS, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, “Novel Coronavirus infections” in 2012 we don’t talk about, MERS, Zika… and that’s just highlights from the last 20 years! None of these scares panned out and stopped being talked about, much like Fauci and his goggles back in July. It’s a miracle, right? NO. They “knew” how bad it was going to get, but when it didn’t, instead of admitting they let themselves listen only to the worst-case predictions, some other reason such as “awareness raising made people act better” is trotted out with nothing to back it up. Much like economists that are perpetually wrong and perpetually surprised, but I’ll get into that another time.
In each of those cases, thankfully, somewhat cooler heads prevailed and no massive responses were undertaken. Fast forward to 2020, and after years of unrelenting fear porn the media finally got a PANDEMIC to take! And take it did. Hugely and bigly. Now here we are, with morons saying that science is political.
I’ll leave with a final thought for now: If anything “the experts” said at the beginning of the year had been anywhere close to reality then the narrative wouldn’t have changed so many times, nor the goalposts moved so far. This was all sold to us on 2,000,000 dead from the virus in the US (via a deeply flawed computer model from someone who is “highly respected” but never accurate), with a 15-day lockdown to slow the spread and not overwhelm hospitals. Never forget that.
